Corrective Pigment Camouflage
Bookings are for consultations only. Your treatment sessions will be scheduled during that meeting.
Service Description
Corrective pigment camouflage is a specialized paramedical tattooing treatment designed to make scars and areas of lost or uneven skin color less noticeable. During the procedure, pigments are custom blended to closely match the surrounding skin and carefully implanted into the treatment area. The goal is not to remove the scar, but to reduce the color contrast so the area blends more naturally with the surrounding skin. Micropigmentation may be used to camouflage scars and restore color to areas where pigmentation has been lost. Before treatment, the area is evaluated to confirm that it is fully healed, stable, and appropriate for tattooing. The color, placement, and treatment plan are customized for each client. During the procedure, clients may feel light scratching, pressure, vibration, or mild discomfort. Temporary redness, tenderness, swelling, dryness, or light scabbing may occur during healing. Multiple sessions may be necessary to gradually build and refine the color, and maintenance appointments may be recommended as the pigment fades or changes over time. Having corrective pigment camouflage performed by an appropriately trained Registered Nurse provides the added benefit of clinical assessment and safety-focused care. An RN can review your medical history, medications, allergies, previous procedures, skin condition, and healing history before treatment. Nursing training also supports patient assessment, monitoring, education, care planning, and continuity of care, which may help identify concerns that require medical clearance, delayed treatment, or referral to another healthcare professional. Because tattooing breaks the skin, careful sanitation and infection-control procedures are essential. Tattooing can carry risks such as infection, allergic reactions, pigment changes, scarring, and unsatisfactory color results. An RN’s clinical background, combined with specific training in paramedical tattooing, supports thorough aftercare education and early recognition of unexpected healing concerns. Corrective pigment camouflage can be a good option for clients with lighter scars, surgical scars, areas of hypopigmentation, or other stable differences in skin color. It does not flatten raised scars or completely erase them, but it may help the treated area appear more balanced, natural, and less noticeable. A consultation is required to determine whether the treatment is safe and appropriate for your skin.
